Bill Skopelja was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, about 45 minutes outside of Chicago. He received his Bachelors Degree in English Literature from Purdue University in 2004 and his J.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University School of Law in 2007.
While attending NSU law school, Mr. Skopelja completed an internship at The Everglades Law Center. The ELC is a nonprofit law firm dedicated to representing the public interest in environmental and land use matters focused on preserving the Everglades and the Florida Keys. While interning at the ELC, he handled a wide range of environmental matters, including land use, wetlands permitting and the protection of endangered species.
After completing his internship in Environmental Law, Mr. Skopelja wanted to continue to be the voice of those in need. As such, Bill began his personal injury career at The Schiller Kessler Group in 2007.
Mr. Skopelja is licensed to practice law in Florida and Kentucky. He specializes in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death in cases arising from automobile and truck accidents, boating accidents, premises liability and products liability. Over the course of his career, Mr. Skopelja has handled thousands of Florida accident cases. His extensive legal experience ensures that his clients receive high quality representation.
Bill is a member of The Florida Bar, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, American Bar Association, Martin County Bar Association as well as several other associations. He is active in many grassroots environmental organizations including: The Coastal Conservation Society, United Waterfowlers of Florida, Ducks Unlimited and The Florida Wildlife Federation. He also volunteers his past experience as a Union Carpenter to aid in constructing homes with Habitat for Humanity.
In his spare time, Bill enjoys playing hockey, golf, inshore fishing, and waterfowling.
